The Design of Accessible and Inclusive Living Contexts course is a unique, innovative, and interdisciplinary Master’s Degree program—the first predominantly online course offered by the University of Bergamo, in collaboration with the University of Salento as part of the Digital Education Hub network, EDUNEXT. It is designed for graduates in Education Sciences, as well as in Psychology, Philosophy, Economics, Law, and Engineering, who aspire to become professionals specialized in the analysis, design, and creation of open and participatory living environments, and experts in technologies for accessibility and inclusion.

Thanks to a solid interdisciplinary education spanning the humanities and pedagogy, engineering and technology, and economics and law, graduates in Design of Accessible and Inclusive Living Environments will become the future experts of tomorrow’s inclusive society. They will be equipped to intervene at all levels—using the most appropriate and innovative technologies—to enhance individual autonomy and improve the accessibility of spaces and communities. They will be able to tackle complex challenges, from initiating participatory processes to promoting autonomy and self-determination in various life contexts.

The predominantly online format of the Master’s Degree offers students a highly flexible learning program. Live theoretical lectures, on-demand recorded video lessons, e-tivities, interactive and collaborative activities, open courses, and intensive in-person lab sessions allow students to balance study, work, and personal life.

Choosing this program means investing in high-level training to become designers of innovative and highly technological solutions aimed at improving the quality of life for everyone—including vulnerable individuals and people with disabilities—contributing to the creation of a more accessible and inclusive society.

OPEN BADGE

Upon achieving the objectives at the end of each module and cluster, Open Badges—digital certificates aligned with the EU-ESCO framework—will be issued.

Interested individuals may enroll individually in the Modules or Educational Clusters that make up the Master's Degree Study Plan, attend them, and take the final assessment test, thereby automatically obtaining the corresponding open badge.

The open badge serves as a certification of a skill acquired and can be highlighted in one's CV and used in appropriate contexts: during career advancement, participation in a competition or job interview, or enrollment in further university courses.
